What are the age categories?
We use Webscorer event management and results system to automatically place swimmers in their correct category. This ensures consistency across the series.
A swimmers age is calculated based on age at the first swim of the series each year.
In 2024/25 the first swim was the Carlton Park Clearwater Classic on November 23.
The age category ranges are:
Junior 12 to 16, Open 17 to 29, Masters’ 30 to 44, Senior Masters’ 45 to 59 and Legends 60 plus.
The minimum age for longer series swims is 12 and for the shorter 500 m novice swim it is 10.
Can I register on the day?
Registration close for each event at 5pm the day before to ensure we have the sufficient water safety for the event.
Do I need a wetsuit?
Wetsuits are recommended however not compulsory.
Can I get a refund if I can't make it?
Yes, full refund as long as you let us know prior to registrations closing.

The swims conducted by surf lifesaving clubs in Tasmania are conducted under strict safety guidelines to ensure the protection of participants and efficient event management.
Where does our registration money go?
Some is kept aside to cover costs of running our swims. The most goes to the surf club hosting the event.
Is there an overall winner of the series?
Yes we run a point system for each of the races to encourage those chasing points to travel to as many swims as possible.
